Nissan GT-R NISMO Targets Two Second 0-60 Time
Since it’s debut the current generation GT-R has held many accolades on and off the track, but now Nissan is looking to set a record that would simply be astounding.
The 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO, set to debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in November, is hoping to be the fastest-accelerating production car in history, aiming for a 0-60 mph time of just 2 seconds. You read that right, the Nissan GT-R NISMO will accelerate to 60 mph from a standstill faster than a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

It might sound like a tough feat, but if any vehicle can do it, it’s the Nissan GT-R. And with the push that Nissan wants to make with its NISMO brand, it wouldn’t be a surprise that the company would do everything in its power to claim a record. The NISMO edition GT-R is being developed with the aid of Williams Advanced Engineering, the team that also helped develop the Juke Nismo.
Undoubtedly the GT-R NISMO will get a boost in power from its twin-turbo V6 powerplant, but putting it on a diet would help its acceleration time greatly.
