Sebastian Vettel Becomes Highest-Paid F1 Driver Ever
Sebastian Vettel is leaving Infiniti Red Bull Racing for 240 million reasons.
The four-time Formula 1 champion is reportedly getting a three-year deal worth $80 million a year with Ferrari that would make him one of the highest-paid athletes in the world. Ferrari has been struggling in recent years in Formula 1 after dominating the sport with Michael Schumacher behind the wheel. The team hasn’t captured a driver’s title since 2007 and hasn’t won a race since early 2013.

Vettel’s move to Ferrari could start a string of events for other top drivers including Fernando Alonso who is likely leaving the Ferrari team to make way for Vettel. If Alonso opts to return to McLaren, that would mean replacing Jenson Button who could very well retire from Formula 1 after 15 years.
