2015 VW Jetta Headlights Cause for Recall

The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta is being recalled for a software glitch that can affect its headlights.

A total of 25,007 Jetta sedans are covered by the recall, which is due to incorrect software within the headlight control module that can cause the low-beam headlights to turn off when the high-beam lights are turned on. As a result, light output from the headlights may not be sufficient.

According to the German automaker, the affected vehicles were manufactured between July 11 and November 13 and the recalled vehicles do not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, which falls under “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.” The company will notify affected owners and dealers will update the headlight control module software free of charge.
