AutoGuide Now for the Week of January 19
The year is in full swing and we’ve got a full fleet of new vehicles to test. This week we have a quartet of trucks and one sleek sedan.
2015 Range Rover Autobiography: Mike Schlee, Road Test Editor –“This week I’m driving what is quite possibly the ultimate SUV. The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography long-wheel base has a lot of power, tons of rear seat space and a sky-high price tag. Is this posh SUV really worth the premium? I plan to find out.”
2016 Land Rover Discovery: Colum Wood, Editor in Chief – “At AutoGuide.com we go to the ends of the Earth to test drive cars for you, which is why this week I’m off to to drive the new Land Rover Discovery Sport in Iceland. Relaunching the Discovery brand, this new crossover is designed to be a true competitor in the luxury CUV segment, offering seating for up to seven with a compact footprint and a reasonable starting price of just $38,920. Arriving extremely late to the premium crossover party, does the Discovery Sport have what it takes to catch the eye of premium crossover buyers?”
2015 Chevrolet Colorado: Luke Vandezande, Managing Editor – “This week I’m driving something named after my home state. Yes, I’m spending a week in Colorado the pickup truck and not Colorado the state despite my desire to switch the two. But all is not lost because Steve and I are pitting GM’s new mid-size pickup against the segment-leading Toyota Tacoma. Will new trump old? Will I spare the Internet from terrible Colorado puns? You’ll need to stay tuned to find out.”
2015 Toyota Tacoma: Stephen Elmer, News Editor – “The new Chevy Colorado is shaking up the midsize pickup truck segment, but to prove it really has staying power, we are comparing it against the defending segment champion, the Toyota Tacoma. I’ll be piloting the Tacoma for a week to see how its holding up after being on-sale for nearly a decade with only minor updates. Can this truck defend its title, or is too dated to hold a candle to modern midsizers?”
2015 Volvo S60 Polestar: Sami Haj-Assaad, Features Editor – “The Volvo S60 Polestar is the other choice when in the world of Audi S4s and BMW 335i M-Sport models. Are you thinking about buying a European performance sedan without going German? I’m going to spend a week with the car to see if it’s up to the task.”
