2015 Ford Edge Sport Packs EcoBoost Power
Ford has revealed its most powerful Edge yet.
Sporting a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque, the Ford Edge Sport will go on sale this spring and will be priced from $38,995, only an increase of $500 from the 2014 model.
The new performance specs mean the 2015 Edge Sport has 10 percent more horsepower and 25 percent more torque than its predecessor while returning 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway in front-wheel drive form. As is typical with all-wheel drive models, fuel economy suffers slightly, dropping to 17-mpg city, 24-mpg highway for 20-mpg combined.

In addition to more power under the hood, the Edge Sport also benefits from upgraded suspension with 15-percent stiffer front and rear antiroll bars while the rear monotube dampers are larger in diameter and the springs are 10-percent stiffer with 20-percent less body roll. The Edge Sport will come standard with 20-inch wheels with larger 21-inch rollers available as an option.
“The 2015 Edge Sport is exactly what it says it is – a utility vehicle that not only looks beautiful, but is a spirited performer,” said Cristina Aquino, Ford Edge Consumer Marketing manager. “Ford customer research showed there was a strong desire for more in terms of power and content, and with the redesign of Ford Edge, we wanted to give customers a true sport version, which meant bringing the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 along for the ride.”
