VW ‘TDI Goodwill Program’ Will Pay Owners $1,000

With the prospect of attracting new diesel customers to the fold unlikely, Volkswagen of America is taking steps to ensure current TDI owners stay with the brand.

Starting next week, VW will launch a new “TDI Goodwill Program” that will put cash in the hands of those owners currently driving a TDI diesel model with a defeat device.

According to a report by The Truth About Cars, the program was detailed to dealers today ahead of its launch on November 9th.

The program will see owners receive $500 in a prepaid card with no restrictions on how to use it. A second card, which will be valued at between $500 and $750 can be used exclusively at Volkswagen dealerships.

To see if they qualify, owners can look up their VIN on VWDieselInfo.com and then head to their dealership with proof of ownership to collect their prepaid cards.
