Formula 1’s Eddie Jordan Rumored to Join Top Gear

Top Gear may get its third co-host after all.

Now that Matt LeBlanc is officially joining Chris Evans on the newly revamped show, rumor has it that former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan will also be in the lineup. According to RadioTimes.com, Jordan will be named as part of the Top Gear family within days, although he has not officially signed his contract yet. The latest report says that Evans will be accompanied by driver Sabine Schmitz and journalist Chris Harris on the show along with LeBlanc and Jordan.

Jordan is expected to offer genuine expertise on cars and motor racing as the founder and owner of Jordan Grand Prix, which operated from 1991 to 2005. He was also the lead analyst for F1 coverage on the BBC from 2009 to 2015.

With his former experience working with the BBC, he has strong ties to the team bosses and will be able to break big news stories from the world of motorsport. As a team owner, Jordan had an impressive list of drivers including Michael Schumacher in his first season of racing. He is described by one former F1 broadcasting colleague as “affable, smart and a really good broadcaster.”
