Mustang Shelby GT350 Rumored to Get Dual-Clutch Transmission
Currently, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 can only be had with a six-speed manual gear box, but rumor has it a dual-clutch automatic is coming for the car.
According to Road and Track, a new dual-clutch will land in the GT350 and GT350 R to help boost lap times and acceleration. The manual transmission option isn’t going anywhere, but Ford wants to introduce the quick-shifting dual clutch to help get the most from this car.

It’s not known whether it will be a six- or seven-speed gear box and it could even be akin to the seven-speed dual-clutch found in the Ford GT.
Ford refused to comment of future product when asked about the new transmission by Road & Track.
The report also confirms that the GT350’s 5.2-liter V8 that uses a flat-plane crank will remain in production until 2020, when the Mustang will be replaced with a new generation of car.
