GM Recalls 2005-07 Cadillac CTS; Plus 2011 Cadillac, GMC and Chevy Trucks

General Motors has announced two separate recalls for a total of five vehicles totaling 100,000 units in all. The majority of recalled vehicles are 2005-07 Cadillac CTS models where the passenger airbag could fail to inflate in a crash due to a possible broken connection with the sensor in the passenger seat. In total 95,927 vehicles are affected.

The second and much smaller recall is for the 2011 Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevrolet Avalanche (yea, they still make that). The issue surrounds a rear axle pin which could break and cause the axle to lock in place, effectively limiting the driver’s ability to control the vehicle and, therefore, could result in a crash. Just 1,262 vehicles are affected.

GM is expected to notify customers shortly with repairs to take place early in the new year.
