Ford is Making Paying for Gas Easier Than Ever

Ford doesn’t want you to have to punch grimy buttons at the gas pump anymore.

The American automaker has announced the integration of the ExxonMobil’s Speedpass+ app to SYNC 3, allowing owners to pay for gas without having to exit their vehicles. Drivers can also use the app to search for and locate approximately 9,400 participating Exxon and Mobil gas stations. Naturally, the app can be accessed through voice commands simply by saying “Pay for fuel” or “Express pay” and then indicating which pump number to authorize.

The company shared a video showcasing the app in action, saving drivers the time and effort of having to fumble through their wallets or purchases to find their credit cards, swipe them and punch in their zip code for verification.

“ExxonMobil’s use of mobile technology that makes life more convenient for their customers can be easily integrated into Ford vehicles,” said Dave Hatton, Ford global manager, mobile applications and emergency services. “With SYNC AppLink, the Speedpass+ experience becomes a more seamless part of our customers’ journey.”
