Ferrari 250 GTO Celebrates 55th Anniversary with Awesome Rally
More than half of the GTOs ever produced assembled in one location this past week.
As one of Ferrari‘s most legendary and famous models ever produced, the 250 GTO is celebrating its 55th anniversary the same time Ferrari is celebrating its 70th birthday. Produced from 1962 to 1964, less than 40 units including prototypes were built, and to this day they are some of the most expensive collector’s cars to cross the auction block.
So for its 55th birthday, the Italian automaker is hosting the Ferrari GTO Rally, where 20 Ferrari GTOs have assembled in Italy.

The rally saw the rare sports cars driving through Tuscany, starting in Florence and crossing the hills of Chianti. And since the 250 GTO was built for homologation into the FIA’s Group 3 Grand Touring Car category, it was only fitting that the event made a stop at the Mugello circuit. Afterwards, the rally held a parade on the Fiorano track before returning home to the Maranello plant.
