1. Editor's Pick: Bissell CleanView Deluxe Corded Handheld Vacuum (47R51)
Affordable and compact, the Bissell Cleanview Deluxe corded hand vacuum is a great choice if you don’t need a cordless car vacuum. Don’t let its small size fool you; this vacuum has a power rating of 4 amps making it great for quick cleanups. It does however, weigh 5 lbs, so it’s a bit on the heavier side, especially for a corded vacuum.
The included power cable is 18-feet long and the vacuum comes with a two-foot hose, crevice tool, and wide mouth tool. Not a huge variety for attachments but it does come with the necessities. Its dirt cup capacity is comparable to the Pet Hair Eraser vacuum, at 0.78 liters.
Although the CleanView Deluxe is mainly designed as a household vacuum, its compact size makes it a great choice for cars. Emptying the canister is also easy, with a release latch that disconnects the cup from the vacuum. This design also makes it easy to change the filter.
The Bissell CleanView Deluxe corded handheld vacuum comes with a one-year limited warranty.
What is this vacuum good for?
The CleanView Deluxe is recommended for quick cleanups where a power outlet is accessible. It’s great for car owners that don’t need a completely spotless interior and want a vacuum that is also handy to have around the house. Its 18-foot power cable and compact size makes it a good option for larger vehicles.
What is this vacuum not good for?
The CleanView isn’t highly recommended for deep cleaning and its lack of versatile attachments won’t get into all the hard-to-reach places inside a car’s cabin. If you want a more thorough cleaning, look towards a cordless option.
2. Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Cordless Hand and Car Vacuum (1782)
A popular cordless car vacuum from Bissell is the Pet Hair Eraser Hand Vacuum. It’s competitively priced and comes with a one-year limited warranty. Tipping the scales at 3.75 pounds, it’s not the lightest handheld vacuum you can get, but its weight is comparable to other cordless vacuums. Its power is rated at 14.4 volts with a 4.5-inch cleaning path width and a 0.7-liter dirt cup capacity.
Bissell says the Pet Hair Eraser can last up to 15 minutes on a single charge, while recharge time is around five hours. The vacuum features a two-stage filtration system that is designed to help extend the life of the filter while providing easy cleaning.
Unfortunately, the Pet Hair Eraser only comes with a crevice tool and upholstery tool, but it does have a detachable motorized brush which helps provide a deeper clean.
A benefit that’s often overlooked is how readily available replacement parts are for a particular vacuum. Bissell makes it easy to purchase replacement parts and accessories for most of its products, so if you ever need a new filter or you lost one of the attachments, they’re only a click away.
What is this vacuum good for?
As its name suggests, the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is ideal for car owners that often bring their furry friends along for the ride. The vacuum specializes in picking up pet hair and is a good option for pet owners.
What is this vacuum not good for?
Heavy duty messes, or larger vehicles. Although it has an advertised run time of 15 minutes on a single charge, keep in mind battery life degrades over time, so eventually, it won’t last as long on a charge. It also doesn’t have a great variety of attachments, and its dirt container is on the smaller side in terms of capacity.
3. Bissell Garage Pro Wall-Mounted Wet/Dry Car Vacuum and Blower (18P03)
For the car owner that wants to pamper their car with a luxury car vacuum, there’s the Bissell Garage Pro wet/dry vac. It’s a wall-mountable vacuum with a long hose, designed to suction wet and dry debris. As you can imagine, it’s more expensive than all the other vacuums on the list, but it does come with seven car detailing attachments and a four-gallon dirt tank. There’s even an LED full water tank indicator, so you’ll know when it’s time to empty the tank.
While it may sound restrictive to have a wall-mounted vacuum, this unit comes with a 32-foot hose so you can easily reach inside and around your car. It features a 12-amp motor for powerful suction and a five-foot long power cord, so make sure you have an outlet close by where you intend to mount the vacuum. A crevice tool, dusting brush, TurboBrush tool, and extension wand are some of the tools and attachments included with the vacuum.
If you have shopped for other wet/dry shop-vacs, you’ll notice that many on the market have wheels and can be somewhat portable. This isn’t the case with the Garage Pro wet/dry vacuum, which is pretty difficult to take on the go since it weighs 18 lbs without the hose.
What is this vacuum good for?
As you can imagine, this vacuum is ideal for owners that want to thoroughly clean their car’s interior on a regular basis. Since it is a wall-mountable vacuum, you don’t have to deal with any power cables or battery charging while vacuuming, making the overall task more convenient.
What is this vacuum not good for?
If you travel often or want a quicker and easier solution to clean up small messes, this is not the vacuum for you. While it is convenient to use within from your garage, unwinding the hose just for a quick cleanup isn’t as easy as grabbing a cordless handheld vacuum.
4. Bissell Lightweight Cordless Hand and Car Vacuum (1985)
A more expensive cordless option is the Bissell Lightweight cordless vacuum, also known as the Multi Cordless handheld car vacuum. Featuring a 22-volt lithium-ion battery, the vacuum weighs 4 lbs, comparable to the Pet Hair Eraser. There are dual LED lights on the vacuum to help make it easier to see dirt, and it comes with multiple tools and attachments that can be stored right on the vacuum for easy access.
It does however, have an even smaller dirt cup capacity than the Pet Hair Eraser at 0.4 liters. It could prove inconvenient if your car is extra dirty, having to constantly empty out the canister while cleaning. What is convenient is the removable battery pack, giving you flexibility when it comes to charging and storing the vacuum. This allows you to keep the vacuum stored in your car, since you only have to remove the battery to charge it.
This vacuum comes with a crevice tool, dusting brush, motorized brush roll tool, and an extension wand with duster. That’s a good variety of attachments, giving you a specialized tool for different areas of your car that needs cleaning.
Although it is more expensive, the Bissell Multi Cordless vacuum does come with a two-year warranty.
What is this vacuum good for?
This vacuum is recommended for car owners who often travel and prefer to keep a vacuum in their vehicle all the time. You can also purchase an additional battery pack, so there’s always one fully charged and ready. And since all the tools and attachments can be stored on the vacuum itself, it’s a solid all-in-one portable solution.
What is this vacuum not good for?
Like the Pet Hair Eraser, this vacuum’s small dirt cup may not be sufficient for larger vehicles. For bigger messes, you’ll likely have to empty out the canister in the middle of cleaning.
5. Bissell Little Green Multi-Purpose Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner (1400B)
A more specialized car vacuum is the Bissell Little Green Multi-Purpose Portable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner. Mainly designed to clean deep down dirt from car mats, upholstered seats, and liners, this vacuum is also versatile thanks to a flexible hose and included tools. It’s a corded vacuum, so you’ll need convenient access to a power outlet to use it. It also weighs 9.6 lbs, so it’s not a vacuum you’ll want to constantly pick up and carry around to use.
The included power cord is 15-feet long and the vacuum has a large tank capacity of 48 ounces, likely allowing you to vacuum your entire vehicle before having to empty out the canister. Once you’re done cleaning out your car’s interior, you can use the Bissell Hydro Rinse tool attachment to easily clean out the hose. A 3″ tough stain tool helps you clean hard-to-reach areas inside your car’s cabin.
This vacuum can also be used in your home to help keep your floor carpeting clean.
What is this vacuum good for?
This vacuum specializes in deep carpet cleaning, which makes it an ideal tool to keep your floor mats and other upholstery spotless. Great for cleaning out spills and stains in your carpet, and it can also be used in your home.
What is this vacuum not good for?
It’s not the type of vacuum you would use for general cleaning or quick touchups. It is a corded vacuum, so it’s not recommended if you don’t have easy access to a power outlet.
