GM Next-Gen Pickups to Arrive Nine Months Early
General Motors‘ next-generation pickups will now arrive in fall 2018.
The American automaker has decided to move the launch of its new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups up by about nine months in order to compete with the new 2015 Ford F-150, according to a recent Reuters report. Following the new pickups a year later will be GM’s next-generation SUVs, which will also likely benefit from weight-saving components.

Expect the next iterations of the Silverado and Sierra to go on a heavy diet, as the company looks to dramatically lighten its pickups. Despite pushing the launch forward by nine months, the new vehicles will arrive dealerships almost four years after the new F-150.
Both automakers are likely to continue improving their current models, with enhancements such as new engines and transmissions heading to the Silverado and Sierra. Chevrolet is expected to slot its new eight-speed automatic transmission
