Audi Won’t Go Smaller Than A3 in U.S.

Audi has no plans to introduce any more small vehicles to the U.S. market. 

“You won’t see us go down-market more,” said Luca de Meo, head of global sales and marketing for Audi. “You’ll see us go upmarket more. We’re trying to take our share in the upper segment.”

That means that the German brand will not go smaller than the A3, introduced into the U.S. in 2014 as a four-door sedan. In other parts of the world, Audi sells the even smaller A1 and plans to introduce a new Q1 compact crossover.

Audi is looking to expand into the high-end luxury market with two new vehicles in the near future. The first will be a range-topping A9 that was teased with the Prologue concept at last year’s LA Auto Show.

A new SUV is also expected from the brand that will sit above the Q7.
