Ram Laramie Limited Gets ‘Black Tie’ Treatment

Ram’s high-end Laramie Limited trucks are getting a makeover meant to offer luxury accoutrements without the cowboy getup.

Among other things, the Chicago Auto Show is known for hosting truck debuts and this time around Ram is filling those shoes. The new Laramie Limited trim level offers black leather, real wood cabin inserts and badges special to the package. The cabin is also characterized by silver pinstripes. Most of the truck’s interior surfaces are covered in either soft leather or wood and, of course, it gets the newest 8.4-inch uConnect infotainment screen.

Apart from looking less like Luxury by Pecos Bill, the exterior is also being revised for the upcoming model year.

2015 Chicago Auto Show Coverage

It gets a new front grille that has a couple of ovals that look an awful lot like nostrils and a tailgate with “RAM” on the rear in massive letters. The package, which is available on the 1500, 2500 and 3500 models, also includes a body-color front fascia with fog lamps and a matching, painted rear bumper. You can also pay more and have the front and rear bumpers covered in chrome.

All versions of the truck come with 20-inch aluminum wheels that have silver paint on certain surfaces with the 1500 model.

Ram plans to offer the Laramie Limited trim on most configurations, but the 1500 will have it first for the 2015 model year in the second quarter of this year. The 2500 and 3500 models will also be available so-equipped, but not until the third quarter of 2015 as part of the 2016 model year.
