Volkswagen Opens 20th Facility in China

Volkswagen just opened a new manufacturing plant in Southern China.

This is the Volkswagen Group’s 119th facility and its 20th in the country, which is their largest and most important market in the world.

This facility has the capacity to build 300,000 vehicles per year. VW and Skoda models will be assembled at the plant, which is located about 560 miles west of Shanghai.

This factory will directly create about 4,000 jobs plus more than that at the adjoining supplier park. Volkswagen Opens 20th Facility in China

The VW Group’s latest facility should be fairly green as well. Water and energy consumption will be reduced by about 20 percent thanks to the collection of rain and the use of using solar power. Overall the plant should be carbon neutral.
