Fast and Furious 9 Will Come Out in April 2020

The Fate of the Furious may have only hit theatres earlier this year, but the next installment in the long-running, automotive-themed action series is already being planned.

A tweet sent from The Fast and the Furious official twitter account yesterday indicates Fast and Furious 9 will arrive in April 10th, 2020. It was initially thought F9 would drop on April 19th, 2019, however its release has now been pushed back a year for undisclosed reasons.

While the series is becoming a bit tired (okay, very tired) it’s not surprising to see that Universal is working on yet another Fast and Furious film. The Fate of the Furious absolutely killed it at box offices, bringing in an impressive $1.2 billion worldwide. The film starred Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, but it’s unclear if Johnson will return for the next movie. Rumors surfaced that Diesel and Johnson didn’t get along with one another on set, and some are speculating this is the reason for the film’s delay. We think we speak for many fans of the series when we say we’re not too concerned about the actors – just have some cool cars and we’ll be happy.
