Ford Ramps-up Facebook Advertising Campaign

Ford Ramps-up Facebook Advertising Campaign

Facebook advertising has been said to be ineffective by General Motors, but Ford has announced that they will be running a bevy of ads on the social media website over the next two months.

Ford is going to be specifically pushing merchandise, like t-shirts, models and other blue oval inspired trinkets. The ads will be targeted at people who have clicked on Ford’s pages before, or is a repeat visitor to automotive Facebook pages.

Last year, Ford generated $1.5 billion in revenue off of its merchandise alone, making the decision to advertise an easy one. The ads are going into circulation on June, 10 in anticipation of Father’s day on June, 17.

Among the licensing requests for new Ford merchandise are Mustang men’s cologne, a floral bouquet in the bed of a toy 1948 Ford truck and a $34 T-shirt sold at Saks Fifth Avenue stores.
