SRT Viper GTS-R Hits the Track – Video

When the SRT Viper debuted, automotive enthusiasts worldwide had huge smiles on their faces. But when the SRT Viper GTS-R debuted alongside the production model, racing enthusiasts worldwide had to pick their jaws up off the floor.

The race-only SRT Viper variant is set to compete in the GT class of the American Le Mans Series later this year, and it appears that SRT has been putting it to the test in anticipation for its racing debut. Chrysler posted a video on its PentaStar YouTube account showing off the SRT Viper GTS-R being put to the test on a track, and even though it’s quite short, we get a very good impression of just how mean this machine will be.

It’s a little strange to see a Viper with a sequential transmission, but that’s the way ALMS race cars tend to be.
