Subaru BRZ Not Getting Discount, Company Says
Contrary to yesterday’s story, according to Subaru, the BRZ is not being offered with any discounts.
USA Today had reported that a $400 discount was being given on the BRZ, because it was selling so many fewer than the FR-S. But Subaru representative Michael McHale has laid these reports to rest.
Apparently, the discount that was reported came from analyst’s calculation of the value of the current Subaru 2.9-percent APR program. It was all based on the financing of the car, not the actual sticker price.
2,684 FR-S models sold last month, compared to 818 BRZs which seems like a big gap. But Subaru does not want the BRZ to be a volume seller, and its small sales numbers have everything to due with limited production.
