Toyota Announces Next 25 Winners of 100 Cars for Good
Toyota has now announced the second group of 25 winners in its 100 Cars for Good contest. Selected charities receive a brand-new vehicle from the Japanese manufacturer, meant to help the charities further endeavors.
In March, Toyota opened the contest to entrants. From there, the field was narrowed by a field of experts in philanthropy to 500 organizations. Everyday from May 14 until August 21st, five organizations are profiled on 100 Cars for Good and are voted for by members of the public. Each person can vote once per day and the winning organization of the day gets a free vehicle. They can select a new Tundra, Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Prius V, Sienna, or Sienna Mobility. Any nominations who do not win still get a cash grant for $1,000 from Toyota.
“With this announcement of the next 25 winners, we mark the half-way point of the 2012 Toyota 100 Cars for Good program,” said Jim Lentz, president and chief executive officer of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “It’s the public vote that decides which organizations will receive a new Toyota vehicle and we are thrilled to see the outpouring of support for the program with thousands of votes.”
The majority of the second group of winners (the first were already named ) are organizations that improve society through animal welfare, health & safety, education, and services to children, adults as well as people with disabilities.
