Chevrolet Cruze Diesel Coming in Early 2013

GM‘s best-selling car in 2011, and the second best-selling compact in the US last year will be getting a diesel variant here in the states, which will be available early next year.
The all-new Chevrolet Cruze will continue to be produced at the automaker’s Lordstown Assembly Plant, where it has been built since the model’s introduction. The new diesel Cruze model will go on sale in early 2013, and is targeting the 50 mpg fuel economy mark.
It will be interesting to see how well-received – or not – the diesel Cruze model will be, but give GM credit for being the first of the big three American automakers to make the move of offering a diesel option in an economical family sedan.
