Next-Gen Mazda MX-5 Gains More Custom Options
Trying to appeal to a wider customer base, Mazda is planning on offering a high level of customization when it brings the next generation MX-5 Miata to market.
In an interview with What Car?, designer Akira Tamatani said that Mazda is planning on offering more options for the Miata “to help a customer’s relationship with the car.” The level of customization is said to be akin to the Fiat 500 or Mini Cooper.
Other enhancements coming to the car include a 220 lb. weight loss, and a turbocharged 1.3-litre engine that will make about 200 hp. Expect the new generation to be available by 2015, with a price tag of about $25,000.
