Toyota Camry Certain to Retain Title of Best Selling Car in America

For the 11th straight year, Toyota is confident that its Camry model will take home the coveted title of America’s best-selling car.

The Toyota Camry has an astounding 67,000 vehicle lead over the second-place Honda Accord, and with slightly more than two months left in the year, the Japanese automaker believes that the Camry will top the chart for the 11th straight year.

Even better, Toyota said that its Camry will exceed the automaker’s 2012 sales target by 15 percent and hopes to finish off the year with 400,000 Camrys sold. Through September, Toyota has already sold 314,788 Camrys in the United States – that’s 37 percent more than the same time last year.

Behind the Honda Accord (247,847 sold) is the Nissan Altima (234,040 sold), and in fourth place is the Honda Civic (234,029 sold).
