2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Special Edition
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iconic Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the American automaker has released a special edition model, loaded with hardcore equipment off-road enthusiasts love.
Off-road features on the 10th anniversary special edition Wrangler Rubicon include all-new steel winch-capable bumpers with removable end caps, more ground clearance, new rock rails, and BF Goodrich KM2 off-road tires. The special edition will also come with a one-of-a-kind ‘Anniversary Red’ leather interior, if the buyer opts for it.
After a successful 10-year run with the Wrangler Rubicon, with plenty of accolades and garnering off-road credentials, the Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition will be available as a two-door Wrangler or four-door Wrangler Unlimited model. The automaker calls it the “most capable Wrangler ever produced,” and will be available with a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional five-speed automatic.
The Wrangler Rubicon is powered by a Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 engine producing 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The exclusive features raise the Rubicon by a one-half inch while the 265/70R17 BF Goodrich KM2 rounds off each rugged corner. The tires are mounted to satin black-finished 17-inch Rubicon wheels that feature a red Jeep Wrangler “icon” logo on the outside lip.
Aiding in engine cooling is a dual-intake Power Dome hood while red tow hooks adorn the front and rear and Mopar rock rails provided additional protection from trail damage. Also from Mopar is a black fuel filler door and taillight guards. On the fenders are “10th Anniversary” badges while a red-silhouette “Rubicon” decal on the sides of the hood finish off the package.
The limited-production Rubicon will hit dealerships in spring of 2013.
