BMW 5-Series Plug-in Hybrid Spied Testing
BMW engineers are out and about testing a new 5-Series plug-in hybrid that is on schedule to be in production this year and reportedlu available only in China.
The plug-in hybrid was first unveiled as a prototype concept at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show, and when it hits the market, it’ll sport the facelifted 5-Series front end. When it was displayed in concept form, the 5-Series plug-in had an electric range of 47 miles at speeds under 37 mph. Chances are, BMW has made some improvements in that department since.
