Most Researched Cars of the Week: January 20 – 26
Budget-minded cars were popular in AutoGuide.com’s new cars section this week ranging from crossovers to sub-compacts.
Ford’s popular Focus took the top spot, but big discounts on the expensive electric version suggested this week that sales are struggling. Last week Nissan announced pricing for the 2013 Leaf, leaving the Focus Electric looking even more expensive than before. An entry-level gas-powered Focus is still cheap and the Focus electric is getting cheaper, but it’s still more expensive than the competition.
New car shoppers looked to the 2013 Toyota Yaris sub-compact next. After that, the 2013 Ford Escape was close behind despite a series of early recalls since its introduction. Subaru’s 2013 Impreza also made the list as did the Mazda CX-5 small crossover.
