Volkswagen CrossBlue Concept Video, First Look: 2013 Detroit Auto Show

Yes it has a plug-in hybrid diesel powertrain but the bigger news about the Volkswagen CrossBlue concept will seat seven.

That might sound like a useless detail, but the CrossBlue is a hugely important product for VW as it prepares to break into the hugely competitive mid-size SUV segment in America.

The concept itself actually only seats six, but when it does arrive as a production model (soon), a seven-seat option will be available.
