2014 Jeep Cherokee Revealed in Spy Photos

The 2014 Jeep Juke Cherokee will serve to replace the Patriot and is set to debut during the New York Auto Show this year, but photos of it uncovered in the factory have leaked today.

While the photos published by Jalopnik today don’t show any badges, the site reports that the car pictured above will resurrect the Cherokee nameplate. Rumors of the name change have been percolating for months and now it seems Jeep executives decided to pull the trigger.

Official information still isn’t available, and it doesn’t look like whoever Jalopnik’s mole is managed to poke around under the hood. Still, it’s likely that the car will be powered by a V6 engine — probably a 3.2-liter V6 to save fuel instead of the same 3.6-liter unit powering much of Chrysler’s lineup.

It’s also expected to be “trail rated —” a calling card for the Jeep brand, which even went so far as to badge its four-cylinder, continuously-variable transmissioned Compass.
