2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid to Bow at NY Auto Show

Nissan plans to add plenty of extra miles per gallon to its new Pathfinder model, revealing a hybrid version this week at the New York Auto Show.

No details about the gasoline-electric SUV have been announced but it’s expected to share its engine with the mechanically-similar Infiniti QX60 Hybrid, which will also get its world premiere in the Big Apple.

Rather than the same V6 hybrid currently in place, this new powertrain will be a 4-cylinder with a displacement of just 2.5-liters. Hardly enough to push such a big truck around (even with the aid of electric torque), the 4-cylinder engine will gain a supercharer.

The Pathfinder Hybrid will be revealed on Wednesday, March 27th.
