2014 GMC Sierra Denali Revealed, 6.2L Rated at 450 lb-ft

Chevrolet buyers can opt for the new High Country trim on the 2014 Silverado if they want pickup truck luxury, and now GMC has revealed its top-trim luxury truck, the Sierra Denali, along with estimated power figures for the largest 6.2-liter engine option.

The GMC Sierra will come standard with a 5.3-liter V8, but buyers can choose the large 6.2-liter option which General Motors estimates will make 420 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. That makes it the most powerful engine in the half-ton truck segment if those numbers stay true after they are rated by the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Tow ratings are also best-in-class, with GM estimating that properly equipped 6.2-liter Sierras will be able to haul 12,000 lbs.

The Denali-trimmed Sierra represents the highest luxury trim in the range, and to make the truck stand out, it gets a chrome grille, 20-inch chrome wheels, interior decorative trim, a polished stainless steel exhaust outlet and body-color front and rear bumpers.

Denalis are also packed with tech, coming outfitted with an eight-inch instrument cluster screen, Bluetooth, a Bose audio system, heated and cooled leather front bucket seats, a heated steering wheel, front and rear park assist and LED daytime running lights.

Two different packages will be offered with the Denali: the off-road specific Z71 trim, and the driver alert package that includes forward collision alert.

Pricing has not been announced yet.
