BMW i3 to Arrive in January, Priced From About $34,500
With the production debut of the BMW i3 coming later this month, reports indicate that the car will start around $34,500 in the U.S., and that it will arrive next January.
AutoGuide reported earlier in May that the i3 is expected to be priced near the 3 Series model, which means a $34,500 price tag would land it within that range, though an entry-level 3 Series starts in the early $30,000 mark. European deliveries for the i3 will begin in November this year before it heads to the U.S. in January 2014.

The all-electric i3 will be good for 168 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque and will be rear-wheel drive. There will be an option for a range-extending, two-cylinder 0.6-liter engine that will essentially double the range of the i3 and will cost a roughly $2,000 premium. The hybrid e-drive i3 variant will launch a couple months after the standard, all-electric i3.
