Infiniti G37 Coupe Track Car Revealed – Video

Infiniti has shown off a G37 Coupe track car, leveraging its relationship with Red Bull Racing to bring race-inspired technology to its production cars.

According to the Japanese automaker, the track car is a performance enhanced prototype vehicle and recently made its track debut at the world famous Nordschleife circuit in Germany. Infiniti Red Bull Racing Team Principal, Christian Horner, was behind the wheel and the vehicle will be used for demonstrations, passenger rides and displays at Infiniti events around the world.

The G37 Coupe track car is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 with 333 horsepower and 294 lb-ft of torque and weighs in at 3,197 pounds. Custom 18-inch O.Z. Racing Superleggera wheels are paired to Pirelli P Zero tires.

As for what makes the car so different and “track ready,” are the adjustable suspension and carbon fiber rear wing, custom made exhaust with a pair of racing catalysts, no electronic driving aids, a removable three-spoke steering wheel, double racing seats with five-point safety belts, a pneumatic lifting system, racing brakes, a carbon fiber rear diffuser, data logger, FIA-certified roll cage and a gutted interior with plenty of components made from lightweight carbon fiber.

Of particular note, it’s discuss that the very same modifications could be done to the bran’s new Q50 sports sedan. That said, don’t be surprised to see just such a car in the near future.
