Buick Might Make More ‘GS’ Models
There might be a new crop of “GS” badge wearing Buick vehicles waiting in the wings.
GM’s vice president of global design, Ed Welburn, said as much according to a new report from Car and Driver. The Regal is currently the only vehicle offered in a GS version and features brake, wheel and suspension upgrades.
Welburn’s assertion is hardly outlandish. The Verano Turbo is offered with a manual transmission and would make a reasonable candidate for what boils down to a mild performance enhancing package. Its turbocharged four-cylinder makes 250 hp.
It isn’t outrageous to assume that the Lacrosse could get an enhancement package as well. The 3.6-liter V6 is the same unit found in the Cadillac CTS and could easily be tuned to make the same 321 hp.
