Honda Fit Sedan Previewed
Honda has revealed its new City model in India, previewing what to expect when a Fit sedan is introduced for the North American market.
The City, which is closely linked to the Fit, will be built at the same plant in Mexico that will be in charge of the 2015 Fit and Fit-based SUV – revealed last week as the Honda Vezel in Japan. In a previous report, Honda’s U.S. boss confirmed that those vehicles will ultimately be sold in North America, which means the City sedan will be a Fit sedan.

Aesthetically speaking, the City shares a similar front end to the new 2015 Fit and will be offered in India with a diesel 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a standard gasoline 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Both powerplants are part of the Japanese automaker’s Earth Dreams family. It is likely that the new Fit will share powerplants across its entire lineup, which means North Americans will at the very least see a similar 1.5-liter, non-diesel four-cylinder engine.
It’s also likely that, like with the Fit crossover, the sedan will gain a hybrid drivetrain in North America.
