Nissan GT-R Nismo Leaks Before Tokyo Motor Show
Leaked photos shown here are being reported as the new Nissan GT-R Nismo, set to debut officially this week in Tokyo.
Reports suggest the car will make 585 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, which is a 50 hp increase over the normal GT-R and an added 27 lb-ft of torque. The power increases come thanks to a larger turbochager along with a beefed up intake and exhaust system.
It also gets grippier Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT tires and there will be an optional track package meant to further enhance handling with revisions aimed at lowering the car’s Nurburgring lap time. The package is composed of carbon fiber aerodynamic enhancements that also help shed roughly 143 lbs.
Expect official information from Nissan, soon to be reported during AutoGuide’s live coverage from the show floor.
Editor’s note: AutoGuide received an email from Nissan saying the numbers rumored here aren’t accurate. A spokesman declined to provide correct numbers, citing the official release tomorrow.
