2015 Corvette Z06 to Compete With 911, GT-R
Chevrolet is building its 2015 Corvette Z06 to properly compete against the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R sports cars.
The next-generation Z06 is expected to make its debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show and already, Chevrolet is touting it to be the “most track capable Corvette ever.” With enhancements to the chassis, powertrain and body, the Z06 isn’t just setting its sights on the SRT Viper, but some of the finest cars from Japan and Germany.

The previous Z06 was powered by a 7.0-liter LS7 V8 with 505 hp and it’s likely that the Stingray Z06 will pack more of a punch. Combined with expected weight savings, the next-generation Z06 could be every Corvette enthusiasts’ dream.
“What we’re seeing is a renaissance of the performance car industry,” said Chevrolet spokesman Monte Doran. “The performance sales for Chevrolet are right about where they were last year, and that’s with us closing the Corvette plant for six months.”
