2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28 Costs $75,000

Chevy’s latest and greatest Camaro is about ready to hit the streets, and it will do so with a $75,000 price tag.

That price puts it at more than double the Camaro SS, which starts at $33,055.

The Z/28 trim is meant to achieve one thing: fast lap times. It does so with a massive 7.0-liter V8 that puts out 505 hp and 481 lb-ft of torque, routed exclusively through a six-speed manual and on to a set of 305/30ZR19 PZero Trofeo R tires.

Only one $1,150 option package is available for the car, which nets six-speakers and air conditioning. The standard car includes only one speaker and no A/C, just two of many sacrifices made to save weight in the Z/28. Compared to the ZL1, the Z/28 is 300 pounds lighter.

Chevy is already boasting about Z/28 Nurburgring lap times, as the car ran a 7:37.40 after undergoing 10 hours or 1,000 miles of testing at the Nordschleife. That means that this car is faster than some exotics around the famed German track, including the Porsche 911 Carrera S and even the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.

The car will hit dealers in the spring of 2014.
