Nissan Frontier Diesel Runner Concept Video, First Look

At the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, Nissan showed off a diesel-powered Frontier pickup truck concept, hoping to gauge consumer interest.

Powered by a 2.8-liter Cummins four-cylinder diesel engine, the Frontier Diesel Runner concept has approximately 200 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque in a pickup heavily based on the 2014 Frontier Desert Runner. Mated to the diesel powerplant is an eight-speed automatic transmission sourced from ZF.

Nissan will be launching a Cummins-powered Titan and if there’s demand, don’t be surprised to see another diesel truck being added to the Japaneese automaker’s lineup.
