Volvo S60 V8 Supercar Revealed in Sydney – Video
Volvo has revealed the new S60 V8 race car that will compete in Australia’s V8 Supercar league.
The car is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 that makes about 650 hp. That power, in conjunction with the car’s 3108-pound weight (including driver) will help the Volvo sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds. Built in conjunction with Volvo, Polestar and GRM, the car now uses 18-inch wheels, a transaxle gearbox and independent rear suspension as part of a new set of regulations.
“This is a race car like no other. It is really challenging, but fun, to drive. The power is insane, you need to treat it with respect. I am very much longing for the season start in Adelaide where I am going to face the biggest challenge of my racing career,” said race car driver Robert Dahlgren.
