Nissan GT-R Nismo ‘N-Attack’ Tuned for the ‘Ring’

Nissan’s halo car is getting a little bit of help from a very big back wing and a handful of other enhancements.

“Since the time attack lap at the Nurburgring circuit last September, we’ve been developing parts used in setting that record mark in a GT-R NISMO for public sale,” said Noboru Kaneko, Chief Vehicle Engineer for the GT-R Nismo.

After setting a production car record at the Nurburgring with the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo, the company has taken to Japan’s Fuji Speedway to put its Nissan GT-R Nismo N-Attack Package to the test. According to the Japanese automaker, the record was set in a modified GT-R Nismo with improved handling and a minor diet, and those parts are what comes on the N-Attack Package, which is short for Nurburgring Attack.

 “Today we are testing at Fuji Speedway in Japan to make some final checks and acquire a bit more drive data. We have developed the GT-R NISMO with the NISMO N-Attack Package to match the performance seen at Nurburgring,” he said.

While testing is ongoing, specifications of what will come with it has been revealed. For suspension, the N-Attack Package will employ Ohlins adjustable dampers while a new stabilizer bar and front brake pads further improve performance. As for what the video shows, the GT-R sports carbon fiber fenders and hood gurney in addition to an adjustable carbon fiber rear wing. To shave off even more weight, the interior receives a carbon fiber rear bulkhead.

Pricing and a release date for the N-Attack Package’s haven’t been announced.
