Chevrolet HD Trucks Get High Country Luxury Trim

Comfort is important. No driver wants to sit on a seat trimmed with barbed wire or ride in a cabin that’s nosier than a tractor’s engine compartment. Refinement matters, even in heavy-duty work trucks.

This is why Chevrolet is introducing High Country versions of its 2500HD and 3500HD pickups. These vehicles will coddle passengers in copious comfort just like riders in high-end versions of the light-duty ‘Rado are.

Outside, High Country models are equipped with six-inch tubular, chrome-plated running boards as well as a variety of special badges. As for wheels, 2500 models feature a unique 20-inch design, but 3500 versions with single rears only have 18-inch chrome rims. Dualie models make do with forged and polished 17s.

Moving to the cabin, it’s dripping with sumptuous saddle-brown leather; front-passengers are treated to heated and cooled bucket seats. Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system is also included, as is a Bose premium sound as well as front and rear park assist.

A sunroof, navigation system and rear-seat entertainment suite including a Blu-Ray player are optional. A heated steering wheel, power-adjustable pedals and a special driver-alert package are available at extra cost as well.

But all of this luxury doesn’t affect the ability of these trucks to work. A 6.0-liter gasoline V8 delivers 360 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. The optional 6.6-liter Duramax diesel puts out 397 ponies and a whopping 765 units of twist. When properly equipped the Silverado 3500HD can tow up to 22,900 pounds.
