Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 is All Show and No Go

Since Scion launched its affordable sports car in 2013, customers have been demanding a faster version, and the brand is finally delivering… sort of.

Enter the Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0, a special edition of the car which gets unique style and some track-focused bits like a custom aero-kit and lowering springs. Nothing happens to the engine however, which remains a 2.0-liter four cylinder that makes 200 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. The release series can be had with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, the car gets a TRD steering wheel and shift knob along with black seats, auto-climate control and cargo mats with the TRD logo.

Only 1500 of these cars will be built, and each will sell for somewhere below $30,000. according to Toyota.
