Cadillac Three-Row Crossover Shelved
Cadillac’s plans for a three-row crossover that would have offered an alternative to the body-on-frame Escalade are on hold.
Rather than offering a large, three-row crossover, Ward’s Auto reports that Cadillac will likely produce a smaller, two-row crossover. Fears that a large three-row crossover would directly compete with the Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia also contributed to Cadillac’s decision to shelve the project.

The company is also considering expanding the Escalade to spread across more vehicles than the current SUV. “There is a lot of equity in Escalade, and I’d like to explore the notion of other vehicles carrying that name, but we’ve made no decisions,” said Bob Ferguson, vice president-Global Cadillac at GM in an interview with WardsAuto.
