BMW Future Luxury Vision Concept Heads for Pebble Beach
The BMW Future Luxury Vision Concept is coming to Pebble Beach following its debut earlier this year at the Beijing Auto Show.
A new 7 Series is being developed to better compete with Merecedes’ recently re-designed S-Class and it will be the first product to ride on BMW’s new scalable 35up rear-wheel platform. The company is also supposedly working on a larger and more expensive 9 Series that will sit above the company’s current flagship in the hierarchy. But long before BMW beings offering either of those products through its dealer network, it is previewing some of the styling cues bound for its top-end sedans in the imaginatively named “Future Luxury Vision Concept.”
But aside from offering hints at what some of BMW’s future products might look like, the concept car is also previewing technologies that might make it into future products from the brand. For exmaple, the front passenger gets something called a passenger information display that is connected to the driver information display through a touch pad that allows the driver and passenger to exchange information. That way, the passenger can use some of the infotainment functions the car offers without distracting the driver while still being able to share relevant information when necessary.
There are also individual screens in the second row controlled by a removable tablet housed in the center console.
