BMW i8 Fetches $825K at Auction
A special edition BMW i8 sold for six times its normal price this weekend.
The BMW i8 Concours d’Elegance edition went for $825,000 at the Gooding & Company’s annual Pebble Beach Auctions with its proceeds benefiting the Pebble Beach Company Foundation and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Featuring a Frozen Grey Metallic exterior, the inside of the special i8 features Dalbergia Brown leather that has been tanned utilizing dye from plant extracts.

In addition, the one-off i8 came with a set of matching Louis Vuitton carbon fiber luggage and will include laser headlights (pending government approval), a BMW i8 Display key as well as the first BMW professional edition charging station. Making it truly unique, the words “Concours d’Elegance Edition” has been laser etched in the interior.
The first U.S. deliveries of the BMW i8 also happened during the 2014 Pebble Beach Automotive Week.
