2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Tears Up the ‘Ring
The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 might be looking to break some records.
The upcoming sports car has been spotted out on the Nürburgring conducting some high-speed testing and it’s likely that the American automaker is looking to set a record of some sort with the Corvette Z06. While it’s unlikely that the Z06 will break the Porsche 918 Spyder’s production lap record of 6:57, the Z06 could trump the former ZR1’s lap time of 7:19.63.

At the very least, Chevrolet and its engineers will want to establish an official Nürburgring lap time for the Z06 and it wouldn’t be a surprise if it’s plenty faster than the C6 ZR1. The company has already confirmed in the past that the Z06 equipped with the Z07 Performance Package is faster than the ZR1 on most tracks, so it’s just a matter of time before we find out how the Z06 stacks up against past Corvette models.
Powering the Corvette Z06 is a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 cranking 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque and will be heading to showrooms early next year priced from $78,995.
