2015 Jetta Earns Top Safety Pick+ Rating from IIHS
Volkswagen’s popular Jetta sedan just earned Top Safety Pick+ honors from the Insurance Institute for Highway safety.
Thanks to a recent structural upgrade that included strengthened A-pillars and reinforced door sills, plus the addition of new crash-prevention technology, the car earned a good rating in the demanding small-overlap test, up from marginal before. This is the best score possible.

After this test, which rams a vehicle head-on into a small, steel barrier the Jetta’s structure deflected the blow nicely. The driver’s space was well maintained indicating a low risk of significant injury.
Aside from the small-overlap test the 2015 Jetta also earned good ratings in all of the other IIHS evaluations, which netted it a Top Safety Pick+ rating, the best available.
