Bentley Considers Building Two-Seat Sports Car

Bentley is currently considering one of two models to add to its lineup after its new ultra luxury SUV enters production.

With Wolfgang Dürheimer back at the helm of Bentley the CEO is now looking to add new models to help increase volume for the British automaker. First to market will be the new Bentley SUV, which will see at least 3,000 units built in 2016. But what comes after the SUV for Bentley will be interesting, as Dürheimer’s priority is to add a fifth model to Bentley’s lineup.

The company is looking at two options as new additions to its lineup: a two-seat sports car below the Continental GT and a new model positioned between the Flying Spur and the Mulsanne. In a way, Bentley is looking to revive either the Azure convertible or Brooklands coupe with the two-seater sports car competing with the Aston Martin Vantage with a possible roadster variant. As for the other candidate, it would be a 2+2 sibling to the next-generation Porsche Panamera or a larger four-door coupe variant of the Flying Spur.

The current Bentley models will also be updated in the coming future with the Mulsanne coming first in 2016. Expect an all-new and significantly lighter Continental GT in early 2017 with the new GTC following in 2018 and the Flying Spur for 2019.
