Ford Announces Three Recalls Affecting Six Models

Ford has issued a bunch of new recalls today for a variety of issues.

The largest recall will see Ford pull 74,000 older-model Escape Hybrids and Mercury Mariners off the road because of an issue with the hybrid system. Escapes from the 2005 through 2008 model year and Mariners from 2006 to 2008 are affected by the issue. In those cars, the hybrid system can overheat due to a malfunctioning coolant pump. If the electronics system does overheat it will shot down the entire powertrain, resulting in a stall-like condition.

Roughly 66,000 Escapes and 7,800 Mariners are affected by this problem in the US.

Next, Ford is recalling the 2014 Focus sedan and 2015 Lincoln MKC for issues with the fuel delivery module filter. Only 400 vehicles are affected, and no accidents or injuries have been reported as a result of this problem.

Finally, Ford is recalling 1,700 of it largest trucks, the diesel-powered F-650 and F-750. Problems with the seals on fuel filters are the culprit.
